In samenwerking met PostNL heeft de Jimmy Nelson Studio op woensdag 25 januari een bijzondere serie postzegels met de naam ‘Jimmy Nelson – Ode aan Nederland’ uitgegeven. Waar normaal het portret van de Koninklijke familie pronkt, staan nu trotse geportretteerden in streek- en klederdracht die hebben meegewerkt aan Between the Sea and the Sky, het in september 2022 uitgekomen boek van Jimmy Nelson.

On January the 25th, the Jimmy Nelson Studio issued a special series of stamps titled ‘Jimmy Nelson – Ode to the Netherlands’ in collaboration with PostNL. Where normally the portrait of the Dutch Royal family shines, there are now proud portraits in traditional dress from those who participated with Between the Sea and the Sky, the book by Jimmy Nelson that was released in September 2022.

Vandaag overhandigt Noud Wegman, directeur Commercie bij PostNL, de eerste serie postzegels aan Jimmy Nelson en onze ontwerper Larissa Rosvaenge in het Volendams Museum. De zegels zullen vervolgens in het bijzijn van het Volendams kinderkoor en zo’n honderd mensen in klederdracht worden aangeboden aan de twintig geportretteerden.

Today Noud Wegman, director of Commerce at PostNL, will present the first stamps to Jimmy Nelson and our designer Larissa Rosvaenge at the Museum of Volendam. The stamps will then be given to the twenty portrayed in the presence of the Volendam children’s choir and about a hundred people in traditional dress.
