Kazakh - Mongolia
Kazakh | Khoyor Tolgoi Hill, Altantsogts, Bayan-lgii province | Mongolia, 2017
Traditional Kazakh clothing is well adapted to their semi-nomadic lifestyle and the extreme conditions. Most items are made of hide, fur or felt and are decorated with jewellery and objects such as animal horns or bones. When a Kazakh hunts and kills an animal, every part of it is used and treated with respect. Eagle hunters often wear eagle feathers around their hats to show their status as a hunter.
With your purchase you support Indigenous communities taking their heritage into the future
With its projects, the Jimmy Nelson Foundation (JNF) is completing the circle Jimmy has started. As cultures are rapidly changing through time, and the world’s cultural diversity is at risk, now is the moment to act. The JNF supports Indigenous communities in preserving and passing on their traditional heritage and knowledge by investing in reciprocity and educational projects.
