Kazakh - Mongolia
Kazakh | Altai mountains, Bayan-lgii province | Mongolia, 2017
Mongolia’s incredible variety of ecological zones includes vast areas of mountains, forests, steppes and desert, and each is home to its own flora and fauna; Mongolia is unique in being a natural habitat for both camels and reindeer. The Gobi, literally meaning ‘waterless place’, encompasses more than 1.3 million square kilometres of southern Mongolia and northern China, making it the biggest desert in Asia. Deserts experience extreme temperature fluctuations; the minimum and maximum annual temperature can differ by up to 100 degrees Celsius.
With your purchase you support Indigenous communities taking their heritage into the future
With its projects, the Jimmy Nelson Foundation (JNF) is completing the circle Jimmy has started. As cultures are rapidly changing through time, and the world’s cultural diversity is at risk, now is the moment to act. The JNF supports Indigenous communities in preserving and passing on their traditional heritage and knowledge by investing in reciprocity and educational projects.
