Kazakh - Mongolia
Erchebulat, Kazakh | Sagsai, Bayan-lgii province | Mongolia, 2017
The huge nation of Mongolia is situated between its even larger neighbours China and Russia. With a little over three million inhabitants, it is the most sparsely populated, fully sovereign country in the world. Khalkha Mongols make up most of the population, but migration has brought in several minority cultural groups, including the Kazakhs. Mongolia’s unique landscape and location ensure extreme seasonal weather. The winters are as severe as they get in the habitable world, while the summers can be stif ling. But whatever the season, the daytime skies are famously almost always blue

As cultures are rapidly changing through time, and the world’s cultural diversity is at risk, now is the moment to act. The JNF supports Indigenous communities in preserving and passing on their traditional heritage and knowledge by investing in reciprocity and educational projects.
