Likekaipia - Papua New Guinea
Menaja Koke, Likekaipia | Ponowi Village, Jalibu Mountains, Western Highlands | Papua New Guinea, 2010
It is believed that the first Papua New Guineans migrated to the island over 45,000 years ago from Africa. Today, over three million people, almost half of the total population, reside in the highlands. Surrounded by mountains and harsh terrain, they live in small agrarian clans, consisting of groups of families.
