Q'ero - Peru
Marilena & Marisol, Q’ero | Qochamoqo, Hatun Q’eros, Andes | Peru, 2018
Q’eros belong to the larger Quechua population group, named for their shared language. The community we visited live in and around Qochamoqo, almost 4,400 metres above sea level in eastern Peru, and are said to be the ultimo ayllu Inca, the last Inca community in the country. They are also one the most isolated Andean communities, moving with the seasons to live and work at various altitudes, growing potatoes, corn and bamboo.
