Scheveningen - The Netherlands
Scheveningen | the Netherlands, 2021
The first fishermen settled in Scheveningen in the 13th century, when the Counts of Holland founded the nearby hamlet of Die Haghe, which eventually became The Hague. The nobility had a taste for fresh fish, and the Scheveningers enjoyed earning a pretty penny from the high and mighty. And although they didn’t feel like they were part of The Hague, Scheveningen was never actually a village in its own right.
