Hindeloopen - The Netherlands
Hindeloopen, Friesland | the Netherlands, 2021
Hindeloopen is just a tiny dot on the map and is comprised of a mere few streets protected by a meandering dyke. Even in its heyday, it numbered fewer than two thousand souls. Yet the village was once a major international hub, and the locals—or Hylpers as they like to call themselves—were known far and wide for their cosmopolitanism.

With its projects, the Jimmy Nelson Foundation (JNF) is completing the circle Jimmy has started. As cultures are rapidly changing through time, and the world’s cultural diversity is at risk, now is the moment to act. The JNF supports Indigenous communities in preserving and passing on their traditional heritage and knowledge by investing in reciprocity and educational projects.
