Discover Dutch Heritage
The Jimmy Nelson Studio will grace PAN Amsterdam this year with Jimmy’s work from his Dutch oeuvre. In a continuous tradition of collaboration, his studio is once again teaming up with Mieke Zilverberg. The studio is bringing five works from the collection, named ‘Between the Sea and the Sky,’ just like the eponymous coffee table book.
Jimmy will present five of his impressive works from his book “Between the Sea and the Sky.” This marks the fifth collaboration with Kunsthandel Mieke Zilverberg, which delves into the past and its preservation daily, while Jimmy focuses on the present and continuing these rich traditions.
In the book “Between the Sea and the Sky,” Nelson takes us on an emotional journey through Dutch regional and traditional costumes, communities that maintain a profound connection with their environment, such as the sea and the land. Each of the five selected photos tells a unique story and captures both the beauty and the threats these communities face.
The combination of antiques and old coins on one side and Jimmy’s work on the other will provide an aesthetic experience. Visitors will have the chance to come face to face with the people and places in the Netherlands. His ability to unite human life and the natural world in his photography is an extraordinary testament to the importance of preserving our cultural diversity and protecting our planet.
