Beautiful Embroidery
Rabari have a very rich cultural past and present. They are known for their unique appearance and distinct dress code. Both men and women wear elaborate jewellery that signifies the family’s wealth. Rabari men commonly dress in white garments known as kediya (a traditional suit jacket), dhoti (a cloth that covers their legs) and a colourful pagadi turban. The women wear long black headscarves and a shawl called a ludi. Its colour and design signify their marital status and position within the community. Although Rabari women generally dress in black, they are famous for their colourful embroidery, known as bharat.
