Rarámuri means ‘barefoot runners’, and this community is known all over the world for their extraordinary endurance and running abilities. Men, women and children have extremely good endurance, and some regularly run hundreds of kilometres through the canyons.
Rarámuri can run hundreds of kilometres without ever stopping.
They wear huaraches, locally made sandals, rather than modern running shoes. Companies all over the world replicate the original Rarámuri sandals, to inspire and perhaps aid endurance.
