Scopic

Scopic

Since the production of the new book in 2016, we started to bring a 360 camera on the journeys. We teamed up with Scopic to bring ancient indigenous cultures to virtual reality, allowing the audience to stand amongst people from all across the world. We are able to create a global immersive VR video tour across nations and cultures, because Scopic can supply us with all material needed. We are very excited to show you the outcome anytime soon!

About Scopic

Scopic was founded in 2014 by Producer Justin Karten and Director Yori van Gerven. In late 2013, the first signs of a 360 degree video and the development of a consumer virtual reality goggle emerged. With their expertise and the history of filmmaking in mind, both immediately believed that this technological development will be the new future medium.

The human brain identifies and gets emotionally involved with stories. Since the dawn of mankind, we are constantly trying captivate others with our stories. Thanks to the advancement of video technology, we have now come to a point in which the viewer can actually relive a story and easily share it. Scopic aims to create a virtual reality that touches all of the viewers senses. It’s a whole new way of engaging your audience, taking them on a journey through different realities.

FONK

Together with FONK we created an immersive and integrated mobile app that allows readers to explore more content than Jimmy Nelson’s book can offer. This resulted in a deeper connection with the subjects of Jimmy's photographs.

Charlie's Travels

Charlie's Travels

Dutch actor Waldemar Torenstra and Sophie Hilbrand sponsor the Jimmy Nelson Foundation. This year they have visited the Maasai with Jimmy in the northern part of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. During this journey we connected people from different cultures to learn from each others’ knowledge and highlight the wealth of having a world with diverse cultural heritage. This off the beaten track journey was made possible by Charlie’s Travels.

About Charlie’s Travels

Charles Witlox arrived in Kenya in 2014 and settled in Kisumu, at Lake Victoria. Here he discovered a completely different side of Africa. With fresh eyes and living in Kenya he discovered the real beauty of Africa. Something not many travellers experience. He quit his job, bought a motorbike and travelled the rest of the continent. Three years later Charles provides unique and personal experiences in Africa: undiscovered mountains, indigenous cultures, trekking wide spread savannah, and urban upcoming cities.
