In our special edition of the Cult-ED classes, we take you to the Netherlands: the lowlands between the sea and the sky. The Netherlands is located in Europe and borders the North Sea. Some parts of the land parts even lie below sea level!

Jimmy Nelson is meestal te vinden in de verste uithoeken van de wereld. Maar in het voorjaar van 2020 werd reizen ineens onmogelijk door de pandemie. In plaats van de wereld rond te reizen, bleef Jimmy in Nederland en fietste hij door de vissersdorpen, polderlandschappen en oude vestingsteden van het land. Hier ontdekte hij traditionele Nederlandse kleding en besefte hij dat deze net zo uniek is als die van de Papoea’s of Maasai.

Jimmy Nelson can usually be found in the farthest corners of the world. But in spring 2020, travel suddenly became impossible because of the pandemic. Instead of traveling around the world, Jimmy stayed in the Netherlands and rode his bike through fishing villages, polder landscapes, and old fortified towns. This is where he discovered the traditional Dutch dress, and he realised that this is just as unique as those of the Papuans or Maasai.
